The Lions are using the success of the Young Cherrypickers league-tag and Burrangong Bears league-tag, both premiership winners in 2020, as motivation ahead of Sunday's Madden Trophy grand final.
"They really want to join the Cherryettes, Burrangong Bears league tag, and the Young Yabbettes, who also went well this year, and join the party," coach Ray Mitchell said.
Young meets Henwood Park in the decider.
The two sides have met three times this year with one goal separating them on each occasion. Their latest encounter, a semi-final two weeks ago, resulted in a 4-3 extra-time win for Henwood.
"We've beaten them once, they've beaten us twice. But there's only been one goal separating us. They have two strike players who we need to neutralize. We'll try and reduce the amount of time they spend on the ball," Mitchell said.
"If the girls stick to their game plan and start quickly then they should get over them. They have to start from the first whistle."
For Young, attacking midfielder Laura Atkins, defensive midfielder Sarah Gregory and Charlotte Doldisson in the backline are all having outstanding seasons and will look to have a big impact on Sunday's result.
The grand final is at 8.30am on Sunday at Wagga's Equex Centre.
