A motorist has been detected by police travelling more than 70km/hr above the speed limit in a 110km/hr zone at Jugiong.

About 1.20pm on Saturday, January 9, Cootamundra Highway Patrol stopped a 23-year-old male who they allegedly detected driving on the Hume Highway at 188km/hr. Once the vehicle was stopped by police checks revealed that it had been unregistered since the October 22, 2020.
Police issued penalty notices totaling more than $3000 for exceeding the speed limit by more than 45km/hr and using an unregistered vehicle. The man's NSW driver's licence was also seized and suspended for a six month period.

A 22-year-old wanted man from ACT was caught during a vehicle stop on the Hume Highway at Jugiong on January 7.
About 5pm police stopped a vehicle and found cause to speak with the occupants of the vehicle. More police responded and the vehicle was searched.
The 22 year-old male was placed under arrest for an outstanding AFP arrest warrant for recent offences in the ACT. He was extradited to the ACT by AFP the next morning.
Four other male occupants in the car were arrested for varying offences, including drug possession and property offences. A female occupant was issued with a cannabis caution for possession of cannabis.
- Drug ring cracked
Police have charged a further six people this week in Wagga and Narrandera as part of investigations into an alleged drug supply ring in southern NSW.
The Southern Region Enforcement Squad launched investigations in July last year, tracing criminal networks operating out of Narrandera, Albury, Broken Hill and Sydney.
