Emergency services including Harden, Young and Yass SES units, Binalong Volunteer Rescue Association, Boorowa and Young paramedics, Yass Highway Patrol, Goulburn Police Rescue, Young detectives, Young Crime Team, Binalong, Koorawatha and Young Police responded to the job.
A Police Air Wing plane was also tasked from Bankstown.
Inspector Jacob Reeves of Young Police detailed the search and how it unfolded.
"Split into teams with assigned search areas, including some very steep and high terrain, the staff went out for hours searching their area. Fortunately, we found our missing person safe and well, with treatment only required for dehydration and a broader health assessment," Inspector Reeves said.
"I am personally very proud of all the emergency service staff for their efforts in the heat and in challenging terrain. In amongst all the briefings and instructions, we remembered that somewhere out there was a human in need of assistance and this was our overriding thought.
"The last thing I said to the teams before they left was to do their very best to find our missing person. They certainly did this. It was very rewarding to give the news to family members.
"The majority of emergency service staff present were volunteers, coming out for free to help find our missing person. We could not have done it without them. I also thank the Telstra workers who flew their drone over our search area to provide extra coverage."
