A number of personal best times were recorded and a large contingent posted qualifying times for the NSW Country Championships which will be held at Sydney Olympic Park on February 19, 20 and 21.
Two swimmers, Billy Riley and Thomas Grainger, set new SISA records.
Billy set a new SISA record in the under 9s 50m freestyle in his first swimming at a competition event. While Thomas set three new SISA records in the 11yr boys 50m, 100m, and 200m backstroke events. Twenty-one Young Swimming Club swimmers have qualified for the upcoming NSW Country Championships meet at Sydney's Olympic Park.
Young also has relay teams contesting boys freestyle and medley events, and girls freestyle and medley events.
Teaming up for the boys will be under 12s boys Hugo Davidson, Thomas Grainger, Charlie Webber and Patrick Madden, and under 13/14s girls Caitlyn Williams, Mia Davidson, Lucinda Madden and Anna Cockburn in the girls.
Young has four multi-access swimmers contesting events at the country championships, three of which are nationally qualified swimmers.
They are Emma Bigwood, Claire Graham, Josh Graham and Elizabeth Cockburn.
"Our club championships started on Friday evening so we're certainly at the pointy end of the season with a bunch of competition level swimmers peaking in fitness and endurance," Young Swimming Club's Nathan McEvoy said.
"While swimming maybe an individual pursuit, the whole club certainly celebrates achievements no matter how small they might be. The club and teammates will always be there for each other."
