The Cherrypickers Rugby League Football Club have congratulated their treasurer James Sheehan on picking up the Australia Day Citizen of the Year for Young.

On Wednesday Sheehan was jointly awarded the prize with Darryl Hammond.
James was recognised for his hard work and dedication to local sport, especially with his commitment to local sporting groups including the Burrangong Bears, the Cherrypickers and the Young Sports Council.
James not only sits on a large number of local committees but is also the treasurer, using and utilising his knowledge from his work career to help local clubs.
"Happy Australia Day all, we hope you enjoyed the day and big congratulations to our treasurer Jimmy Sheehan being awarded joint Citizen of the Year alongside Daryl Hammond," the Young Cherrypickers wrote on Facebook.
"Such a great honour for you Jimmy, our club and community are grateful for your selfless work... Well done!!"
James was presented his award at Young Town Hall on Wednesday morning.
