Abigail was delivered at the Young District Hospital at 3.30am, January 1 – Young’s very first baby for 2019.
She weighed seven-and-a-half pounds and was as a new born.
Abigail is the little sister of Elizabeth, six, and Rowan, three, both of whom were exceptionally excited to start their new year off by meeting their little sister.
The grandparents Mike and Patricia Crockford of Boorowa and Shirley and Michael Williams of Adelaide.
Young Hospital Auxiliary continued their tradition of presenting the first baby born in the new year with a hand-crafted blanket.
This year’s blanket was hand-crocheted in pink and white by president Janice Ward.
Janice presented the Auxiliary’s gift to the family and to baby Abigail, accompanied by vice president Libby Plumley.
Janice and Libby gave glowing praise of Young Hospital, the staff and doctors, and how the hospital attracts people from surrounding areas, who could use bigger hospitals like Wagga or Canberra.
