Young Cherrypickers first grade coach Roy Jewitt has decided to turn his complete focus to preparing for round one of the Group Nine competition, after scheduled trials this weekend were cancelled by Oberon Tigers.

While a few first grade players will run around with reserve grade at the Boorowa Rovers gala day on Saturday, the Pickers aren't expected to schedule any more trials before April 6th's season opener against Wagga Kangaroos.

"I spoke to some senior players and we have decided to focus on training and do some contact sessions in the coming weeks which should put us in good stead," Jewitt said.
"We have plenty of options and it looks to me like a really strong side. Our focus now is getting off to a good start to the season."
The club's league-tag side and reserves will be in action at the Boorowa Rovers gala day on Saturday.
Reserves will play games against North Canberra Bears and Boomanulla while the Cherryettes have been drawn to play Harden Hawkettes and Binalong Jersey Girls.
Semi-finals begin 4.40pm.
