Robinson said four of his NSW Blues stars were always going to miss the Roosters clash with Penrith Panthers on Sunday night, which the Panthers won 19-10.
James Tedesco and Boyd Cordner backed up while Latrell Mitchell was rested alongside Crichton.
Roosters play Canterbury Bulldogs this week before Origin teams are announced for game two on Sunday, June 23 at Perth.
