The outage was caused by birds coming into contact with the electricity network on the corner of Nasmyth and Edwards Street, according to Essential Energy.
Network protection equipment activated just before 9.50am to isolate supply to the area.
Attending crews have secured the safety of the site and are isolating the damaged section of the network.
"Power has be re-routed around the local electricity network to progressively backfeed supply to as many customers as possible," operations manager of Riverina Slopes Shawn Eade said.
Forty-two customers still remain without supply and Essential Energy anticipates that power will be restored to all customers by 3pm, if no further issues are experienced.
