Magician and "ultranormalist" Troppo Bob performed at Young's Mercy Place Mount Joseph's Aged Care on Friday morning as part of his spring tour across rural NSW.

Residents were treated to an hour-long show called Laughter from a Magic Box, designed specifically for seniors to encourage laughter, inspire and engage.
Mount St Joseph's lifestyle coordinator Sandy Pronk said the residents loved the performance.
"The residents really enjoyed it. He had me intrigued. The residents love getting out and having something different to do aside from bingo or singing concerts. Something like this is a real treat for them. It's different," Sandy said.
Troppo Bob refers to himself as an "ultranormalist" as he uses props which are mainly everyday items including pens, money, balloons, flowers and cards and dice.
This was the second time he performed at Mount St Joseph's.
Troppo's wife Chris Latta, also the show's manager, said they're on a spring tour which will include shows at 10 aged care facilities, seven agriculture shows, eight childcare centres and five schools.
The pair are located at Crescent Head on the state's Mid-North Coast.
"We always had the dream of taking shows to rural and remote communities," Chris said.
"Generally by the end of the show everyone is laughing. It's about engaging which is really important. The tricks aren't the most important. It's about the character of the magician and how you engage the audience."
