About 280 people flocked to Captain Cook Weir on Sunday, October 20 to help raise awareness of Motor Neurone Disease.
Teams organised fundraisers and a number of raffles were held to help boost the money raised to above $20,000.
MND fundraising manager Kym Nielsen said she was amazed by the response.
"It's an amazing response. A big thank you from the organisation to the sisters Katrina Bannister and Tarnia Flett for the amazing effort they've put in to make it happen," she said.
"At this stage we've raised $21,360 with some more still to come in which is a fantastic result.
"I'm amazed and we'll definitely be coming back."
The 5km walk around Captain Cook Weir proved popular.
"It was a beautiful morning and lovely weather, there were families, lots of people and puppy dogs wearing blue bandannas. It was a great atmosphere," Kym Nielsen said.
