The Hidden Treasures Honour Roll is an initiative of the Department of Primary Industries Rural Women's network and recognises the outstanding efforts of women volunteers in NSW.
The honour roll promotes the valuable role of volunteering to the community.
Sue moved to Young in 1984 following her marriage to Richard, a farmer and chiropractor.
After arriving in Young, Sue became a councillor to the Nursing Mothers Association which continued for 10 years.
Sue was a leader in establishing the Brock Street Pre-School Kindergarten in 1988, and Annette's Place Pre-School and Childcare Centre.
She was appointed to represent the South West Slopes on the NSW Government Advisory Committee for Country Childhood Multi-Purpose Services.
In 2001 Sue joined the state council of the Isolated Children and Parents Association and was elected state treasurer.
Between 2001-2012 Sue served as treasurer, vice president and president.
Sue was elected to the Young Rural Lands Protection Board and served as a director from 1997 to 2008.
She held executive positions on the South West Slopes Sheep Breeders Association between 1998 and 2019, serving as treasurer and secretary, and at times both.
She joined the Young branch of Rotary International in 1996 and has served as treasurer and was president during 2011 and 2012.
A morning tea was held at Urban Retreat on Monday.
