Organisers are hoping to attract more than 1000 visitors to town to celebrate Young's Chinese heritage, which spans back to the gold rush period of the 1800s.

Usual attractions including lion dancers and the lantern parade are set to wow crowds once again, and the Gold Trails Reenactment Group will perform with cannon fire to bring to life what would have been a government camp in Lambing Flat during the gold rush.
The parade will feature giant rat-shaped lanterns to celebrate the Chinese Year of the Rat.
They are being created by students from the community and will be on display throughout the festival.
Hilltops Council Destination Marketing Officer Lauren Frith-Asagrim is excited for the event.
"There's a number of attractions including Lions dancers, reenactment village with a cannon fire display, Wiradjuri dancer group Ballowrie - Bummana from Young High School, ANU Classical Chinese ensemble, Future Faces which is local performers from schools in the area, and a display of large lanterns," she said.
"The lantern parade involving local children is always very popular. We send out lanterns to schools throughout the Hilltops region and invite all the kids to join the lantern parade. We have a workshops [on Monday and Tuesday this week] at Young Town Hall to make large lantern displays with artist Tracie Luff. They'll be shaped like rats as 2020 is the Year of the Rat. They'll be part of the parade and displayed - which hasn't been done before."
The lion dancers will perform three dances including a prosperity dance to wish the region good luck and fortune, an acrobatic show, and LED light show after dark.
"It's beautiful to look at," Lauren said.
There'll be plenty on throughout the course of the day with the Lambing Flat Folk Museum providing all you need to know on the town's history and Chinese heritage, as well as farmers markets, wine tasting and art shows.
Multicultural food stalls will be set-up at Anderson Park with the official opening of the festival scheduled from 4pm.
"We're hoping for good weather this year, come and enjoy the food, the reenactment camp, and enjoy all that's happening throughout the day," Lauren said.
The festival is Saturday, March 21.
