The state government issued a Public Health Order for the closure of all playgrounds and skateparks early this week.
In Young, to remind members of the public, playgrounds and skateparks have been barricaded with tape and signage installed stating "closed until further notice as per government regulations".
Hilltops Council thanked residents for their cooperation and helping keep the community safe and reduce the spread of COVID-19.
No cases, as of Wednesday, had been confirmed in the Hilltops region.
"We are following all directives by the Australian Government in relation to the management of the spread of coronavirus. We received information Monday night that all playgrounds and skateparks are to be closed. Council will be ensuring this happens," Hilltops Council general manager Anthony O'Reilly said.
"This will involve signage being placed at all playgrounds and skateparks as well as fencing and barricades where practical. It is vitally important that residents follow these directions to ensure the safety of themselves and the community."
