Cootamundra MP Steph Cooke visited committee members president David Munnerley, secretary Tony Gentle, Bonnie Dudman, Betty Smithers and volunteer Maureen Perkins on Friday.
Ms Cooke was pleased to announce the funding for the upgrades.
"I am very pleased to support an upgrade to broadcasting equipment for Young Community Radio through this fantastic local grant program," Cootamundra MP Steph Cooke said.
"There is a wonderful team of over 25 volunteers that run 2YYY community radio and it is important they have access to reliable broadcasting equipment in order to stay on-air."
Secretary Lambing Flat Community Broadcasting Inc (2YYY) Mr Tony Gentle said they were desperately in need of funding support.
"Last year we decided we needed to update our old transmission equipment as we have had to go off-air a few times due to the ageing equipment," Mr Gentle said.
"This funding will help us purchase three transmitters, an audio encoder, mixing desk and computer to play music.
"This will help us to keep up with the times and maintain a more reliable service for years to come.
"This equipment is badly needed as the old items are causing a few issues and has been in use since inception in 2004."
2YYY has been on-air since 2004 and has about 25 volunteers who present shows throughout the week.
