We have been unable to form a committee and as such are unable to function.
The members wish to thank Mrs Dot Jeffriess for her dedication during the past 20 years plus years.
Dot has held the role of president, secretary, social secretary, treasurer - sometimes many of these concurrently.
She has organised trips near and far, and luncheons and barbecues for members.
One of her roles was as catering officer when she purchased the ingredients, made the salads and organised members to assist.
Some of the trips Dot organised were to Dubbo Zoo, River Cruises, visits to farms and orchards. There was the annual orchard crawl through Young in February each year when members stocked up on stone fruit.
Mothers' Day, Christmas in July and Christmas Luncheons were all well attended.
Dot also organised raffles, collecting items and making up baskets for prizes. Dedicated members would sit themselves in IGA to sell tickets to the passing parade. This money went to subsidising the cost of trips so that it was affordable for members.
Dot was under medical advice to cease all her activities and it was with regret that she tendered her resignation from the association. We wish her well in her retirement.
Members extend thanks and appreciation to the Young Witness and 2YYY Community Radio for their support, and Young S and C Club for use of the auditorium.
