A vehicle has ripped up grass between the Visitor Information Centre carpark and Lovell Street.
Police say a blue Nissan Nivara was seen being driven through Anderson Park.
They are looking to speak to the driver.
The park is a popular destination for families and people travelling through the region, and is home to Young's War Memorial.
Hilltops Council general manager Anthony O'Reilly urged anyone with information to call the police.
"It is always disappointing to see vandalism of any kind," he said.
"This particularly impacts the council staff who work hard to maintain the area and keep it looking good for our community and visitors to enjoy. If anyone knows anything about this incident I urge you to contact the local police."
