Excitement is building across the Hilltops Region as the 2026 Harden Rodeo prepares to deliver the first full weekend of rodeo action in Harden-Murrumburrah since 2018.
For a community with a deep connection to its rodeo heritage, this is more than just an event - it marks a long-awaited return. That momentum has been building steadily, with overwhelming local support for the bull riding introduced at the 2025 Harden Community Bank Show demonstrating just how strong the appetite remains. The message from the community was clear: bring the rodeo back.
This ANZAC long weekend, that call has been answered.
The Broncs, Barrels and Bands event will transform the Harden Racecourse and Rodeo Grounds into a hub of activity, welcoming competitors, visitors and families for a full program of competition and entertainment. The weekend begins with ANZAC Day commemorations, bringing the community together in reflection before shifting into a celebration of connection and country life.
From 9am Saturday, the arena will host a packed schedule including barrel racing, team roping, Ladies Ranch Bronc riding and Open Bronc events. In keeping with the significance of the day, competition will pause late morning to honour the ANZACs. This important moment reflects the values that underpin both the event and the community.
Beyond the arena, the rodeo is a true whole-of-community effort. Market stalls, food vendors, a kids’ zone, and the ever-popular Camp Oven Cook-Off will keep the grounds buzzing, while Saturday night will come alive with live music headlined by 2026 Toyota Star Maker winner Jarrad Wrigley.
Sunday continues from 9am with the Australasian Team Roping Association Jackpot and a more relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere, giving visitors time to enjoy the town and support local businesses.
Importantly, this year’s rodeo also carries a deeper significance. Just over 12 months on from the 2025 hailstorm, the event represents resilience in action. It’s a chance for the community to come together, rebuild momentum, and showcase what makes Harden-Murrumburrah special.
Delivered through the combined efforts of local volunteers, organisations and businesses, the return of a full rodeo weekend is a reflection of community pride, persistence and belief in the future.
With the event now just over a week away, anticipation is building and tickets are selling fast. For locals and visitors alike, the 2026 Harden Rodeo is set to be a defining weekend. A weekend that celebrates heritage, honours community strength, and firmly puts Harden-Murrumburrah back in the saddle.
